Condo Fire in New Fairfield, CT causes widespread damage
Condo owners are especially vulnerable to fire and water damage because of the shared structure with others. One toilet overflow can cause water damage to several homes. In this New Fairfield condo, a kitchen fire caused significant damage to the home it occurred in. Several other condos in the building also had smoke damage.
In the originating unit, our team determined that many of the walls and ceilings required demolition. After they completed this task, we focused on removing the black soot from the remaining surfaces that we were able to save.
Our next focus was on removing the smoke damage from several condos. We used our air filtration and scrubbers, as well as topical cleaning agents to remove any remaining smoke and soot. from the air and surfaces. Soft contents such as bedding, curtains and clothing were sent off site for cleaning. We transported other household contents to our off site facility for cleaning.
